Essentials Launcher · Last updated October 1, 2026

Essentials Launcher ("Essentials") is a home-screen launcher and set of widgets for iPhone. It is built to keep your information on your device. Essentials has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the developer never receives your data.

Information Essentials uses

Essentials only asks for access when you turn on the widget that needs it. You can say no or change your mind at any time in Settings.

Your app lists, appearance settings and tap counts are also stored on your iPhone.

What leaves your iPhone

Only one thing: to show weather, Essentials sends your saved location to Apple's weather service (WeatherKit). Apple's handling of that request is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. Nothing else is sent anywhere, and nothing is sent to the developer.

Purchases

Essentials Plus is an optional one-time purchase. Apple handles the payment through the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment details or your Apple Account information. Essentials only checks with Apple whether Plus is unlocked on your account.

Shortcuts

Some apps can only be opened through an Apple Shortcuts shortcut. If you choose to add one, it runs on your iPhone inside Apple's Shortcuts app.

Children

Essentials does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Deleting Essentials from your iPhone removes everything it stored. You can also turn off Calendar, Reminders or Location access for Essentials in Settings › Apps › Essentials.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
